Vic DH Series Final at Maldon

After missing the whole Vic series I finally had everything sorted with a new bike and new gear and headed to Maldon to race on the weekend.  I was really excited to race again and felt really good being back on the DH bike.  The track was pretty technical through the rocks and it was crucial to get your lines right and hold speed.  I managed to have some really good practice runs and had all my lines sorted and felt fast.

I was pumped for qualies and was ready to rock when I was in the gate.  I had a killer top section getting all my lines through the rocks dialled.  Unfortunately half way down the track in a split second everything went bad.  As I was throwing in some pedal strokes my rear wheel jammed up, I looked down and the tube had come out of the tire and not popped and jammed up the wheel.  It took a while for me to pop the tube, re bead the tire and get rolling again.  Looking back I wish I had of just picked up my bike and ran down the rest of the track to the finish line to try qualify but in the heat of the moment I didn't think of that and just rolled down pretty shattered about what had just happened.

It was an extremely frustrating and disappointing scenario and I was pretty devastated I didn't get to race.

On a positive note my new Specialized Demo was feeling great, my Fox Shox Suspension were feeling super smooth and my new Royal gear was super comfy to ride in.

It was great to be back racing again and I'm bummed it was the last round because i'm hungry for it again, in fact, i'm starving!
